Module 10 Reflection: Intro to the Black Freedom Movement

Some other key things I took away from the "No Easy Walk" film was that songs played a major role in the meetings and gatherings. A lady spoke about how there were only two to three speakers, but the remainder of the time was spent singing in unison.  One thing that I did not like was how Laurie Pritchett, Albany's Chief of police went so much out of his way to jail protestors. He went as far as a 60-mile radius to call the surrounding jails in order to send some of the protestors there. The Chief of Police also went out of his way to get Dr. King out of jail, not because he was wrongfully jailed, but because he wanted to stop an form of unity within the jail. At the request of Laurie  Pritchett, Dr. King's bail was posted and he was released. Dr. King had become disappointed and somewhat discouraged from the way things turned out in Albany.
