Introduction - My First Blog
Getting to know me
My name is Jordan Green. I am a graduating senior majoring in Computer Science/ Information Systems with a minor in Cyber Security. During my tenure at Johnson C. Smith, I have attended several different tech-related conferences. My favorite conference would have to be Black Enterprise's Tech Connext. While attending this conference I was able to connect with other students from 15 different HBCUs. Attending this conference also allowed me to land my current role, a Security Engineer, at Electronic Arts (EA).
Background
I was born and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland. I have 3 sisters and 3 brothers. I am the 5th oldest. Growing up I was very active. I played soccer, ran track, and played softball. When I ran track, I ran the 4x400m, 4x800m, 800m, and the 1500m. In the end, I stuck with softball the longest, playing for about 7 years. Over the course of the 7 years, I played center field, short stop, and catcher.
In my free time I like to hang out with friends or family, online shop, or see what new skill I can teach myself. I am currently trying to teach myself how to code in Python. I am also determined to have a basic understanding of the stock market by the end of the semester.
Upon graduation, I plan on moving to Florida to begin my career at Electronic Arts. I’m grateful for all the opportunities that Johnson C. Smith has provided over the years. I have met many genuine people and I have made many meaningful connections. A goal of mine is to be able to help HBCU students the way Terik Tidwell has helped me.
I hope this course will give me insight on things that have happened in history that many people are unaware of. I look forward learning new things.
Interesting Fact
An interesting fact about me is that I have a habit of procrastinating because I like to work under pressure.
Nice to meet you. I wonder how it feels to have siblings. In the only child.
ReplyDeleteIt’s crazy your trying to teach yourself how to code in python 😂 I would’ve never thought about a interesting idea as that is.
